It is through playing that children learn essential life skills. Children develop intellectual, social, emotional, and physical skills by playing. The importance of play cannot be over emphasized; it is what children do best and what they enjoy most. It is every child’s right. Yet for certain groups of children, such as disabled or disadvantaged children, access to play environments are limited, reinforcing their social exclusion.
Inclusive play offers the same opportunities to everyone. Inclusion means that all children are able to play together equally and that each child is given the same chance to develop their skills, interests and abilities.

At the Sensory Playhouse, we offer an exciting and accessible play environment where all children are treated equally. Every child, regardless of ability or disability, can learn, play and grow while having lots of fun. We invite you to share their joy and sponsor a child.
By sponsoring a child you are ensuring that ALL children have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Our sponsorship program is easy. We take applications from families who have children with special needs, whether those needs be developmental, physical or financial. We pair those families with donors like you.
The Sensory Playhouse created the Share Their Joy – Sponsor a Child program to assist families with disabled or disadvantaged children obtain access to an inclusive and supportive play environment. This program seeks donors to provide these children with memberships to the Sensory Playhouse.

The Sensory Playhouse has created a fun, supportive and inclusive play environment for children of all abilities. We created the Share Their Joy – Sponsor a Child program to provide families with disabled or disadvantaged children memberships to The Playhouse.
Children are eligible for sponsorship if they have a developmental or physical disability or a significant developmental delay. We understand how time consuming therapy and doctor's visits can be. We want to give you the opportunity to spend time with your child in a fun & stimulating play environment.
Typically developing children are also eligible for sponsorship if they are in financial need. We understand that many families are experiencing difficult financial times. We want your child to have the same opportunity to play, learn and grow while having lots of fun. Please see a Playhouse employee for financial eligibility requirements.
